In this thesis requirements are presented for digital orthophotographs in mapping process of the National Land Survey of Finland.
The components of the digital orthophotograph are: a digital aerial photograph, a digital terrain model and the mathematical model, to connect components mentioned above to each other. All of these three components have effect to the quality of the digital orthophotograph.
Effects of the components to the quality of the digital orthophotograph are described. It is clarified how the digital orthophotograph production join with mapping process of the National Land Survey of Finland.
Finally, in the experimental part it is discussed how the accuracy of the outer orientation influence the geometrical accuracy of digital orthophotograph. Keywords: Digital orthophotograph and digital orthophotograph production
