Project title: 3-D video digitizing.
Subprojects:
Abstract:
Video digitizing deals with measuring 3-D information about objects and space from 2-D video images. In this project, the basic techniques for 3-D video digitizing with a movable stereo head consisting of two cameras and a feature projector, and with a single camera and laser profilometer moving with respect to the object were developed. The techniques were implemented, verified, and demonstrated in laboratory and real conditions. Techniques for subsequent data processing included methods for outlier removal, methods for the registration of multiple 3-D data sets acquired from different viewpoints, and tools for the design and simulation of video digitizing using CAD-models. Achieved results have attracted international interest.
